One Love is an Oakland documentary about community healing, mental health, public health, and the connection between Black and Asian communities through East-West healing. The film follows the East-West Oakland Healing Clinic, a free community clinic supported by Alameda County Behavioral Health Department and Alameda County Public Health Department. Led in part by Eric Yuan （袁雅烈）, the clinic brings traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, qigong, meditation, movement, and behavioral health support directly into trusted community and faith-based spaces. In Oakland, many residents face barriers to care, including health inequities, stress, trauma, pain, aging, and uncertainty around medical access. This documentary shows how healing can begin when people feel welcomed, seen, heard, and cared for — not judged by money, insurance, or paperwork. Through powerful personal stories, patients describe relief from pain, emotional release, better sleep, and a deeper sense of peace. Community leaders also reflect on why this model matters for public health, mental health, cultural connection, and collective healing. One Love is more than a documentary about a clinic. It is a story about love as medicine, community trust, and what becomes possible when people come together to heal.
